Bhadreswar Group embarked on its glorious existence in 1965, when its founder father Sri. Sanat Kumar Nandy established the early milling and trading business of rice in Burdwan. Quality and purity became the hallmark of the produce, and Bhadreswar Rice started to establish its footprints. With the establishment of integrated Bhadreswar Rice Mill plant, the emboldened steps set out to create the most audacious but successful endeavor, the birth of branded packaged parboiled rice in India, Lalbaba Rice.

The continued focus and philosophy of quality at every price point established Lalbaba Rice as a symbol of trust and health. Modernization with state-of-the-art technology from Japan and global R&D practices heralded a new chapter of future-forward thinking in nutrition sufficiency and health-intensive products with food safety and security practices.

Diversification started to take shape in this phase of expansion as Sri. Sanat Nandy was joined by his sons Sri Partha Sarathi Nandy and Sri Palash Nandy. Investment and collaborations hawk-eye precision in every step helped Bhadreswar group expand into a full-fledged agribusiness with readiness to launch a series of products; forays into exports of rice and agri-products; and forays into new verticals of infrastructure and construction chemicals.
